Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The Kaffarah for breaking an oath is as follows:

1. Freeing a slave, or

2. Feeding ten poor people two average meals, or

3. Clothing ten poor people that is sufficient to conceal their bodies[1]

If one is unable to fulfil any of the above three due a valid reason, one should fast for three consecutive days.[2]

With regards to your question, the Fuqaha have mentioned that one should give ten poor people half Saa (1.59 Kg’s) of wheat, flour or  one Saa of barley (3.18 Kg’s). [3]One may also feed ten poor people two average meals, for example, lunch and supper.[4]
