Title

If one misses Qunoot of Witr, is Sajda Sahw sufficient for the validity of Salaah?

Question

as salaam waalaikum

i would like to ask a qeustion regarding sajdah sawh in the witr namaaz of esha

during my witr namaaaz of esha i completed my qiraat in the 3rd rakaat and without raising my hands and reading the dua qunoot i went into ruku. it was only while i was sitting in the quaeda position i had realised my mistake. i then performed sajdah sawh after the tashahud and completed my sallah. would this be acceptable.

Answer

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

You state that you forgetfully missed the Du’aa e Qunoot in the Witr Salaah. In such an instance, Sajda Sahw is necessary. Since you have performed Sajda Sahw, your Witr Salaah is valid.[1]
