Title

Is it Fardh to get circumcised?

Question

A friend of mine reverted to Islam couple of years ago but he is not circumcised is it fard for him to get circumcised!

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principal, it is Sunnah for males to get circumcised.[1]

Your friend would be excused from circumcision if the process would cause much pain and difficulty.[2]
