Is multiple- ear piercing permissible?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

 

As-salāmu `alaykumwa-rahmatullāhiwa-barakātuh.

 

Multiple ear piercing is permissible for young girls and women provided that the practice of ear piercing does not entail the specific emulation (Tashabbuh) of the Kuffar, it does not entail any custom or belief that is against the dictates of Shariah and it does not entail any medical/bodily harm.[1]

 

Ear piercing can be practiced on different parts of the ear, for example: the Rook, tragus, Helix, lobe, e.tc.[2]

 

It is not permissible for men to do ear piercing.[3]

و لا بأس بثقب أذن البنت و الطفل استحسانً ، ظاهره أن المراد به الذكر مع أن ثقب الأذن لتعليق القرط، وهو من زينة النساء، فلا يحل للذكور، و الذي في عامّة الكتب، و قدّمناه عن التاترخانية : لا بأس بثقب أذن الطفل من البنات ( ردّ المحتار، ج 6، ص 420، ايج أيم سعيد)
