Please inform me at what point after the mayet (deceased) is buried, is it required to read and inform the family about the wishes of the dead?

Question

Please inform me at what point after the mayet (deceased) is buried, is it required to read and inform the family about the wishes of the dead?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

When a person passes away, the ownership of everything he possessed is transferred over to his heirs giving them the right of ownership. Due to this reason, it is important that his wasiyyah (will) be carried out as soon as possible.
