Title

Why do the following countries consider three Talaaqs in one sitting as one?

Question

Why does islamic countries i.e Egypt, Sudan, Iraq, Tunisia, Turkey, Syria, Bangladesh, Indonesia ,etc are in the ruling of 3 talaq in one sitting considered as 1. Are the mufti's and ulama from those countries taking the blame for this innovation? For those people given the verdict i.e 3talaq = 1 from their respective islamic courts, will Allah punish them? Whom to be blamed?

Hope you can explain.
 

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu `alaykumwa-rahmatullāhiwa-barakātuh.

The official position of the Darul Iftaa is that three divorces issued in one sitting constitute three divorces and not one.

Our view is substantiated by proofs/evidences from Qur’aan and Hadeeth.
