Title

Is it permissible to pick up goods with a fork lift? Is it permissible to stock non- Halaal items on the shelves of a supermarket?

Question

I work in a warehouse where I drive a fork lift and pick up non- Halaal items such as pork, ham, gelatin e.t.c. I pick them up from a storage area and drop them by a truck which transports the items to the stores. Similarly, my friend stocks these items on the shelves of a supermarket. Are these jobs Haraam?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu `alaykumwa-rahmatullāhiwa-barakātuh.

It is Makrooh (reprehensible) for one to transport or stock Haram (impermissible) items.[1]

We advise you to search for a more Halaal suitable job as soon as possible. Make Du’aa to Allah (Subhanah Wa Ta’ala) to assist you in your predicament.

And Allah knows best.
