Title

Can a person use perfumes with alcohol?

Question

Can a person use perfumes with alcohol?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu `alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principle, it will not be permissible to apply/use perfumes that contain alcohol which are produced from grapes or dates.[1]

Nowadays, majority of perfumes contain alcohol produced from other substances other than grapes or dates. Therefore, it will be permissible to use such perfumes.[2]

And Allah knows best.
