Title

Is my mothers’ cousin sister my mahram?

Question

Is it permissible for me to marry my mothers’ cousin? To elaborate, she is my mothers’ fathers’ sisters’ daughter. We are both Muslims. Is she my mahram?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Your mothers’ cousin sister is not your mahram and it will be permissible for you to marry her.[1]

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
