Question

Assalamualaykum wa Rahmatullah

1. I am aware that in several hadith it is mentioned that Allah's Veil is Light and he we unveil the light on the day of Judgment so the believers will see Allah Ta'la. I was wondering if the veil is an attribute of Allah or if it  is created.

2. I am from Afghanistan and there are a lot of  Afghani traditions that seem to me as newly invented matters in the deen but I am not sure if they are bid'at of not. Some of them are: to go to someone's house out of respect when the person's relative dies and reciting a few verses of the quran, then reciting the verses "Subhana Rabbikal Rabbil 'Izzati..." to "Wal Hamdulillahi Rabbil 'Alamin", then after everyone does a group dua for the deceased. Also Afghans burn this coal thing and take the tray that its burning on and bring it around the house in order to protect themselves from the Jinn. They say  that the smoke protects from the Jinn. I know that this is not in Islam. I was wondering what the status of these things are in Islam. Are they Innovations? If so, how can the whole of Afghanistan be told that what they are doing is wrong?

3. My grandmother made me walk under the Quran back and forth and then kiss it afterwards in order to protect me on my journey back home from Afghanistan. I know that kissing the Quran out of respect is praisworthy but I dont know about walking underneaht it for blessings. While doing the act I had strong doubts that this  act is not in Islam. I asked my father afterwards and he said that it is not. Am I sinful?
