Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

The Jumuah salah has great importance and should not be missed without a valid Shar’i excuse. There are many grave warnings mentioned in Ahadith about one that leaves Jumuah salah without a valid reason. One who has missed the Jumuah salah should make tawbah which is regretting the sin and making a firm intention not to repeat the sin again.

The Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi Wasallam) has mentioned in the following Ahadith about the great importance of one attending the Jumuah salah:

The Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi Wasallam) says: “One who makes perfect wudu then comes to the Jumuah prayer and listens silently (to the Khutba), his sins are forgiving for a week with the addition of three days…”

The Prophet) SallAllahu Alayhi Wasallam) says: “The Jumuah prayer is mandatory on every believer, in congregation, except for four a slave, a woman, a child, and a sick person.”

The Prophet (SallAllahu Alahyi Wasallam) says: “Allah (Subhanahu Wata’ala) seal the heart of one who neglectfully leaves three Jumuah prayers.”

The Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi Wasallam) says: “The Jumuah prayer is like Hajj for the poor.”

The above mentioned Ahadith show the great benefits of performing the Jumuah salah and the great harms of not performing the Jumuah salah.

One that has missed the Jumuah salah should pray the four rakah of Dhur salah within the time of Dhur salah. If he misses the time of Dhur salah, then he must make qadha of the four rakah of Dhur salah.

And Allah knows best
