Title

Can they talk on the phone after engagement?

Question

I would like to ask about before Nikah..........Bride and groonm had engament......after that..... they can talk on the phone, and they meat each , some occation..... pl........answer asap by shira law......

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful  

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

According to Shariah, a boy cannot talk to a strange girl before the nikah is performed. Since an engagement does not constitute a Nikah, it is not permissible for the boy and girl to have any contact.
