Title

I am a Adult Muslim, is it allowed to wear a semi preciuos stone in a silver ring. Please also mentioned how much of silver a man can wear.

I am a Adult Muslim, is it allowed to wear a semi preciuos stone in a silver ring. Please also mentioned how much of silver a man can wear.

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatoh

A) It is permissible to wear a silver ring which has semi precious stone/nugget in it.

 در المختار – (6-360 رشيدية)

( والعبرة بالحلقة ) من الفضة ( لا بالفص ) فيجوز من حجر وعقيق وياقوت وغيرها

 

تبيين الحقائق شرح كنز الدقائق - (7-36 دار الكتب العلمية)

 ولا معتبر بالفص حتى يجوز من الحجر ....وإن جعل فصه من جزع أو عقيق أو فيروزج أو ياقوت أو زمرد فلا بأس

B) A male may a wear silver ring equivalent to 1 .مثقال

 

رد المحتار – (6-360 رشيدية)

( قوله ولا يزيده على مثقال ) وقيل لا يبلغ به المثقال ذخيرة .

أقول : ويؤيده نص الحديث السابق من قوله عليه الصلاة والسلام " { ولا تتممه مثقالا } "

ولا يزيد وزنه على مثقال لقوله عليه الصلاة والسلام { اتخذه من الورق ، ولا تزده على مثقال } .


One
مثقال is equivalent to 4.85 grams. (Ahsanul fatawa 8/69)
