Question

Kia ramadan mein new dresses pehanne ka hisab aakherat mein nahi hoga,jo dresses ramadan mein pehne jayein gey un ka hisab nahi hoga?

Will we not be held accountable for the new dresses we wear in the Akhira?

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatoh

We have not come across any tradition of Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم exempting accountability for new clothing worn in the month of Ramadan. Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم has mentioned one will be accountable for all his wealth (i.e how he earned it and how he spent it) Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم has prohibited extravagance and pride. However, if one wishes to wear new clothing in acknowledgement of the favour of Allah unto him, it is permissible.

Hamari nazar se aisee koi rawayat ya hadeeth naheen guzri jis key mutabiq Ramadan mein naye kaproon key pehnnay key hisaab ki choot di gayee ho. Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم nay farmaya hai keh har shakh apnay pooray maal ka hisaab deh hai (Ya’ni us ne kiss tarah hasil kya aur kahan kharch kya). Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم nay Israaf aur Kibr se Mana’ kya hai.

Lekin, agar koi shakhs naye kapre is gharz se pehenta hai keh Allah ki Na’mat jo us ko dee gayee hai, us ka shukr ada kar sake, to yeh jaiz hai.

And Allah knows best
