Title

Working for an insurance company

Question

I would like to know if working for a short term insurance company haraam.I dont sell insurance but work on existing policies dealing with cars and homes?

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful  

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatoh

It is not permissible to work for an insurance company. Conventional insurance have elements of interest and gambling in them, both of which are expressly prohibited in the Quran .To work for such a company is assisting in sin. Allah says in the Quran " Do not assist in sin (Maidah).
