Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatoh

There are two catrgories of punishment that are given for those who commit Zina.

  1. Unmarried
  2. Married

According to Shariah, if an unmarried person (Ghair Muhsan) commits fornication in an Islamic country and the matter is proved in an Islamic Court before a Qaadhi (judge), the accused will be given 100 lashes as punishment for his/her crime (Surah Noor Verse 2). If the accused was married the punishment will be Rajm (stoning to death).

And Allah knows best
