Title

what is the rules when you are travelling with a car and at that time you are reading quran. There is some verses in the quran that you must make prostration

Question

what is the rules when you are travelling with a car and at that time you are reading quran. There is some verses in the quran that you must make prostration (Sujood). how can i make sujood  in the car can you give me some option what to do. JAZAKALLAH HO KHAIRAN. Maasalam. Awaiting your reply.

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatoh

It is preferable to make Sajdah-e-Tilawat as soon as one reads or listens to the Ayat of sajdah. If one is travelling in a car and he is out of his own town or city, then it is permissible for him to make a gesture of sajdah while sitting in the car.

Radul Muhtar Vol:2 Pg:106 (H.M. Sa’eed Company)

وركنها : السجود أو بدله كركوع مصل وإيماء مريض وراكب

( قوله وراكب ) أي إذا تلاها أو سمعها راكبا خارج المصر وإن نزل بعدها ثم ركب ، أما لو وجبت على الأرض فإنها لا تجوز على الدابة لأنها وجبت تامة بخلاف العكس كما في البحر .
 

Fathul Qadeer Vol:1 Pg:478 (Maktabah Al Rasheediyyah)

إذا تلا راكبا أو مريضا لا يقدر على السجود أجزأه الإيماء وتقدم بعضه ، ولو نزل الراكب فسجد كان أولى بالجواز ، فلو نزل فلم يسجد ثم ركب فأومأ لها جاز إلا على قول زفر هو يقول لما نزل وجب أداؤها على الأرض فصار كما لو تلاها على الأرض .

قلنا : لو أداها قبل نزوله جاز فكذا بعدما نزل وركب ؛ لأنه يؤديها بالإيماء في الوجهين وقد وجبت بهذه الصفة .

Al Bahr-u-Raaiq Vol:2 Pg:118 (Maktabah Rasheediyyah)

وركنها وضع الجبهة على الأرض أو ما يقوم مقامه من الركوع كما سيأتي أو من الإيماء للمريض أو كان راكبا على الدابة في السفر وتلاها أو سمعها ، والقياس أن لا يجزئه الإيماء على الراحلة ؛ لأنها واجبة فلا يجوز أداؤها على الراحلة من غير عذر لكنهم استحسنوه ؛ لأن التلاوة أمر دائم بمنزلة التطوع فكان في اشتراط النزول له حرج بخلاف الفرض والمنذور
